La châtelaine has composed a few self drive packages for you. They are inspired on château life and living in the Burgundy spirit.  If you have a special wish to celebrate your own national day or get-to-gather, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We are very internationally oriented and would love to learn all about your special holiday.

General info about the packages

Within each self drive package you will receive a booklet with all the addresses, itinerary’s, GPS coordinates and more suggestions if you are in the mood to discover even more. It is totally up to you if you would like to skip or change the suggested site seeings. A restaurant on route is suggested each day. If you would like to eat there I can make reservations for you.

1. Gardens of the Burgundy and Champagne

The garden package exists of 7 gardens and parks in the Champagne area and in Burgundy. All gardens lie in a 50 km radius around the chateau. You will also visit the Chablis area which is a garden in itself. Tip: combine with a wine tasting at a nearby chateau.

2. Castle’s & Abbey’s

Burgundy has a rich history and has lots to offer. You will visit Renaissance castle’s and the famous abbey’s of Fontenay, Vezelay and Pontigny. The chateaus have lots to offer like period furniture, stone carvings, art and famous inhabitants. Most monuments you can visit on your own, but 2 chateaus offer guided tours only.

3. Golf in Champagne and Burgundy

In a 20 km radius there are two beautiful chateau golf courses. A 9-holes and one 18-holes golf course. We reserve a time for you and will explain to you the different possibilities with each golf course.

4. Brocante & antique hunt

Around a few weekends la Châtelaine organises an antiques hunt. You will visit a local antique auction, pay visits to local antique dealers and you will go to a mirror guilder. On Sunday you can visit a car boot sale or vide grenier where the “trained eye” still can find a hidden treasure. 

5. Easter

Long weekend from Friday to Monday. On Easter Sunday there is a Easter egg hunt with the Easter bunny in the maze of the chateau for kids staying at the chateau.For every kid there is a basket to collect the eggs and the kids of the village are also invited to participate. Kids can also be painted as a bunny with face paint.
