Self Drive Packages & Special weekends
La châtelaine has composed a few self drive packages for you. They are inspired on chateau life and living in the Burgundy spirit. We have also dedicated a few long weekends with a special theme like Easter, Jewish New Year and American Thanksgiving.
If you have a special wish to celebrate your own national day or get-to-geather, please don't hesitate to contact us and ask. We are very internationally oriented and would love to learn all about your special holiday.
General info about the packages
Within each self drive package you will receive a booklet with all the addresses, itinerary's, GPS coordinates and more suggestions if you are in the mood to discover even more. It is totally up to you if you would like to skip or change the suggested site seeings. A restaurant on route is suggested each day. If you would like to eat there I can make reservations for you.
Please note that some packages are only for low season and some are all year round.
1. Gardens of Burgundy & Champagne
The garden package is a long midweek from Sunday until Friday and exists of 7 gardens and parks in the Champagne area and in Burgundy. All gardens lie in a 50 km radius around the chateau. You will also visit the Chablis area which is a garden in itself. A wine tasting at a nearby chateau is arranged for you. I would like to read more about this package.
2. Chateaus & Abbey's
Burgundy has a rich history and has lots to offer. You will visit Renaissance castle's and the famous abbey's of Fontenay, Vezelay and Pontigny. The chateaus have lots to offer like period furniture, stone carvings, art and famous inhabitants. Most monuments you can visit on your own, but 2 chateaus offer a guide. 3. Golf in Champagne and Burgundy
In a 20 km radius there are two beautiful chateau golf courses. A 9-holes and one 18-holes golf course. We reserve a time for you and will explain to you the different possibilities with each golf course. I would like to know more about this package.
4. Brocante & antique hunt
Around a few weekends la Châtelaine organises an antiques hunt. You will visit a local antique auction, pay visits to local antique dealers and you will go to a mirror guilder. On Sunday you can visit a car boot sale or vide grenier where the "trained eye" still can find a hidden treasure. If you would like you can book the châtelaine to accompany you to translate and negotiate for you. I would like to know more about this package.
Special weekends:
Easter
Long weekend from Friday to Monday with an Easter egg hunt on Sunday morning for the kids in the maze of the chateau gardens. I would like to know more about this package.
American Thanksgiving
Cook your favorite Thanksgiving menu together with your (new) friends. In the spirit of Thanksgiving we cook and eat a sumptuous diner. La châtelaine prepares all ingredients for you. Kids can roast marshmallows outside on a camp fire. This package is for groups, but it is also possible to reserve as an individual. We have room for 24 persons at the table. For this package we work together with other B&B's in the region. I would like to know more about this package.
Important
All packages are self drive packages. You are lost without a car around here. If you do prefer to come by train we strongly recommend you to hire a car at the airport or train station.
If your guests come by train, they need to take the train to Laroche-Migennes or St. Florentin.

Take the Regional train TER to Laroche-Migennes or St. Florentin. These trains depart almost every hour and take you in 1.5 hours to Burgundy.
